I was lucky enough to take home my great grandmother’s Polaroid camera on one of my recent trips back east. I really took it because it was hers and it was beautiful to look at. It was a historic contraption. But my ambition for seeing if it worked didn’t go much further until I found that my local film shop (www.photoworkssf.com) actually stocks the film. My first two shots came out pitch black, but, Great Grandma had the manual in tact so I learned that I actually needed a rare battery first. Who knew it was even possible! Now I can’t stop thinking that this might become highly addictive. Most of the shots have come out too dark, but I have some ideas why and can’t wait to play more. Yay for analog!
